FAQs

What type of NDIS funding should I access for Community Supports?

NDIS funding can be utilised to access Community Supports at Everyday Ability through the following support categories:

  • Increased social and community participation (Capacity)
  • Assistance with social and community participation (Core)
How do I know if I am eligible for SIL?

Funding for SIL is determined through criteria set by the NDIA based on ‘reasonable and necessary supports.’ To be eligible for funding you must:

  • Provide evidence that you are unable to live without 24/7 supports. To do this you will need to submit a Functional Assessment Report (FAR) carried out by an allied health professional
  • Submit an Identifying Housing Solutions report through a support coordinator
How much does SIL cost?

The level of care you require in SIL will determine the NDIS funding amount you receive.

This funding will also only cover you for support needs, it does not cover:

  • Daily living expenses such as groceries or transport costs
  • Rent for your SIL home
  • Any items that are covered in other areas of the NDIS price guide
Can I use NDIS funding to access In Home Care at Everyday Ability?

Yes, In Home Care services can be accessed through NDIS funding by utilising your core supports funding.

What is the difference between a NDIS registered provider and a provider that is not NDIS registered?

Registered NDIS providers differ from non-registered providers in the following areas:

  • They are subject to an independent audit process to maintain their registration
  • All staff at registered NDIS registered providers must go through screenings such as a criminal record check
  • There must be an official process in place to address any formal complaints or concerns
