Christeen Eyre

Co-Founder and Director

Christeen Eyre is a Co-Founder and Director of Operations at Everyday Ability. With 25 years’ experience in disability services, working as a support caseworker for foster carers and a caseworker for children in out of home care, Christeen’s experience is highly valuable to both Everyday Ability and our participants. Outside of disability services, Christeen also has 10 years’ experience in the Australian Armed Forces. She brings extensive knowledge in working with people who may display difficult behaviours including identifying the areas that they may require more supports, navigating legislation, managing medications and identifying medical needs of participants.

Christeen chose to establish Everyday Ability with the other Co-Founders because she has always been passionate about supporting people with disabilities and she wanted to be able to work towards positive goals and outcomes. She believes that doing it as a business owner ensures that all participants are treated fairly and are involved in goal setting and achieving goals.

As Christeen says, “I look forward to coming to work everyday. The day has many different aspects to it - one minute you can be tied to the office then you can be out and about seeing the participants checking out the day program and checking in with the support workers.”

One of Christeen’s favourite memories of her time at Everyday Ability was one of their first meetings to sign up a participant. They were all away for a couple of days and the weather was terrible. Mark and Christeen had to stand outside in the rain with a towel over their heads because it was the only place that they could get reception.

In her spare time, Christeen enjoys cooking and travelling Australia in her caravan and she is known for her positive attitude which is evident in how regularly she says, “Happy days!”
