Founders
Blair Tilbrook is a Co-Founder and the Director of People and Culture at Everyday Ability. Before starting Everyday Ability, he worked in the disability sector for 3 years as a disability support worker and HR Manager. Outside of the disability sector, Blair has had extensive experience in management, working as a contact centre manager and emergency assistance case manager.
Blair’s experience in emergency assistance and call centres enables him to relate to people in any circumstance, and his background in HR and people management helps him to ensure that all staff are supported and nurtured at every turn.
When asked about a special experience he has had at Everyday Ability, Blair says, “My fondest memory of working at Everyday Ability is when we first started and did not have an office space yet. We conducted our interviews in cafes in Long Jetty and held our orientation days at Chris and Steve’s house. I will forever miss the homemade woodfired pizza we had for lunch.”
One of the things Blair loves most about working at Everyday Ability is the opportunity to work with friends and being able to offer a safe and inclusive working environment for their staff. There are always plenty of jokes going around the office and, due to his extensive HR background, some of the staff often have a laugh with him about the number of times he says,“from an HR perspective”every day.
Outside of disability support, Blair loves to spend time in his garden and travelling throughout Australia with his two dogs. He is also very passionate about human rights and ensuring the voices of everyone are heard, as well as animal rescue, having worked in rescue organisations in the past.
